A journey built around cinema
Festa del Cinema di Roma offers a reason to give part of a Rome visit to the big screen. Its 21st edition runs from 13 to 25 October 2026. It is already under way on the review date, so choose from the remaining screenings. Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone is its main hub, with other cultural venues also taking part.

Progressive Cinema sits alongside Freestyle, Grand Public, special screenings and cinema history. The appeal lies in comparing different ways of telling a story: a contemporary filmmaker’s viewpoint, a broader audience film or a return to cinema’s past. Start with a film that interests you and then choose the day.
What to look for
The 2026 official image honours Monica Vitti through Sergio Strizzi’s photograph from Michelangelo Antonioni’s L’eclisse. It provides another way into the festival, through actors, directors and films worth rediscovering. Casa del Cinema and MAXXI are among the additional venues, so two screenings may mean two addresses.
Our editorial suggestion is to make one screening the focus of a short visit and leave time afterwards to talk about it. Check the exact screening time, auditorium, film language and ticket conditions in the official programme. The festival’s overall dates do not mean one ticket covers everything. Plan the journey to the venue of your chosen screening.

Planning the journey
A trip from your hotel to the chosen venue starts at your actual accommodation address. Arrival at Fiumicino (FCO) or Ciampino (CIA), followed by travel to your accommodation, is a separate part of the journey. To discuss an event transfer, contact Hola Taxi with your chosen date, venue, departure address and passenger count. Discuss the return journey separately once your plans are clear.
