A musical evening at Sapienza
The 82nd season of Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti runs from 17 October 2026 to 8 May 2027 in the Aula Magna of Sapienza University’s Rectorate. It offers a different pace for a Rome trip: one concert in which attention rests on live sound and the work of the musicians.
Chamber ensembles, orchestral programmes, solo recitals and vocal music allow visitors to choose what they truly want to hear. Piano enthusiasts can compare recital programmes; listeners interested in musical dialogue can explore chamber groups. The university venue becomes a meeting place for different musical forms.
Finding your concert
The two main strands are Calliope, associated with Saturday afternoons, and Minerva, associated with Tuesday evenings, alongside additional events. By 21 October the opening concerts have taken place, but the season continues. Choose a specific future concert rather than planning around the opening.
VOCES8 is scheduled for 13 April 2027. The closing programme on 8 May brings Orchestra da Camera Canova and pianists Eleonora and Beatrice Dallagnese together in music including Bach, Britten and Campogrande. These contrasting forces suggest the range of the season.
