Keith Haring in Rome 2026–2027

Drawings, prints, posters and sculpture by Keith Haring at Museo di Roma, 6 October 2026–11 April 2027.

Art that reaches people

Keith Haring’s exhibition at Museo di Roma–Palazzo Braschi runs from 6 October 2026 to 11 April 2027. The artist’s energetic line, dancing figures, radiant children and barking dogs are instantly recognisable. Behind their apparent simplicity lies a conversation about society, freedom and art’s ability to reach different people.

The exhibition brings contemporary art into a visit to historic Rome. Visitors can follow one visual language as it moves between paper, posters, sculpture and objects. This connection between street energy and museum presentation reveals more than a familiar decorative motif.

From the subway to a public statement

More than 140 works and materials are presented, including loans from the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection. Drawings, prints, posters and sculpture appear alongside Subway Drawings and panels associated with Manhattan’s FDR Drive. Techniques change, while the line remains a direct way of addressing the viewer.

Social and political posters show how recognisable figures became statements about public concerns. Other works foreground the body, music and symbolic imagery. Our editorial suggestion is to compare the same motif across different materials, noticing changes in rhythm and tone even when the sign itself seems familiar.

The exhibition is at Museo di Roma in Palazzo Braschi. It is already open on the review date and continues until 11 April 2027. Check official tickets, hours and current notices before visiting. If interested in a guided tour, choose it separately from the museum’s programme: visiting the exhibition does not automatically include an additional activity.
