Stramilano 2027: three ways to run Milan

Stramilano takes place on 21 March 2027 with a half marathon and 10/5 km events. Choose a distance, plan where to meet runners and arrange your journey.

Event dates:

Stramilano returns to Milan on 21 March 2027 with a choice between a sporting challenge and a more relaxed outing with friends or family. The programme includes a half marathon, a 10 km event and the 5 km Stramilanina. It can suit both someone training for a result and someone who wants to share a morning in the city with people close to them.

Choosing your distance

Stramilano Half Marathon covers 21.097 km and has its own sporting entry requirements. Choose it with a goal and preparation in place. The 10 km option offers a shorter way to join the city running event. The organiser also recommends the 5 km Stramilanina for families and people who prefer to walk or take things more gently.

A group with different levels of running experience does not have to choose one distance. One person might run the half marathon while the others walk or run 5 km. Agree on your meeting point in advance: the three formats have different starts and will not finish together. For a supporter, the runner’s chosen distance matters more than the event’s shared name.

Starts and finishes

The half marathon starts and finishes in Piazza Castello. The 10 km and 5 km events begin in Piazza Duomo and finish at Arco della Pace. These places are not interchangeable; the correct destination depends on the event you have entered.

Before travelling, open the section for your distance on the Stramilano website. Check entry rules, bib collection and the current course map. Runners can use this to plan the morning, while supporters can choose where to cheer and where to meet afterwards. Leave some time for everyone to regroup without rushing.

Planning the journey

For a weekend visit, choose your hotel and flight arrangements first. Malpensa (MXP), Linate (LIN) and Bergamo (BGY) are different airports, so name the one on your ticket in any transfer enquiry. The trip from your hotel to Stramilano is separate from the airport arrival journey.

Contact Hola Taxi to discuss a transfer for a runner or group. Include the distance, the correct start, your accommodation address, passengers and luggage. Plan the return around an agreed meeting point after the finish. Also explain whether you want to return to your hotel or continue the day somewhere else.
