The Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship brings the DP World Tour season into its decisive stages. From 5 to 8 November 2026, players compete at Yas Links on Yas Island. It is the first of two Play-Off events: under the published format, 70 players qualify through the Race to Dubai rankings, with 50 progressing to the final tournament in Dubai.
What makes it interesting to watch
This is a chance to follow professional golf when every result matters. Behind each shot is a longer story: a player's position in the rankings, a bid to win the tournament and the opportunity to advance. Before travelling, look at the standings and choose a few players to follow. Individual moments on the course then become part of a contest that is easier to understand.
The organiser has already announced Rory McIlroy's participation. That is one reason to take an interest in the 2026 edition, although it is worth checking the entry list again closer to the championship. Yas Links has hosted the tournament since 2022.
One day or several
For a first visit, give yourself time to see how the competition develops during a day's play. Read the player list, choose the part of the tournament you want to attend and allow time to follow the changing results. If travelling with friends, discuss how interested everyone is in golf: it makes agreeing on the length of the visit and the journey back easier.
Check ticket details and current playing times with the DP World Tour. Before buying, see what your chosen ticket category includes. For a visit over several days, first match your attendance dates with your hotel booking and other plans on Yas Island. The Abu Dhabi championship and the concluding tournament in Dubai are separate events, each needing its own plans.
Planning the journey
Contact Hola Taxi with the day you would like to attend and your group size. You can discuss a journey to Yas Links from an Abu Dhabi hotel or from Dubai, followed by the return trip after play. If you are flying in, you can also discuss an airport pickup and a separate journey to your hotel.
