Liwa International Festival brings together desert scenery, motorsport, Emirati heritage and family entertainment. The next edition, LIWA 2027, is announced for 11 December 2026–2 January 2027. It takes place in Liwa, in Al Dhafra, the desert region of Abu Dhabi emirate. Give it a trip of its own.

The festival is associated with Tal Moreeb dune and Liwa Village. For visitors, the appeal is discovering another side of the emirate: the sands form the backdrop, while sport and cultural activities share the programme.
Why choose Liwa?
The official announcement for the new season confirms sporting competitions, cultural and artistic displays, and family activities. The detailed 2027 programme is still being prepared at the date of checking. Choose performers, race sessions and particular competitions from the new calendar once it is published.
The festival brings together motorsport, traditional activities and evening entertainment. It offers a way to combine an interest in competition with a cultural visit and time in a desert landscape.
If sport is your priority, look for the day featuring your chosen competition. For a more relaxed introduction to the festival, compare the family and cultural activities in the new programme. Choosing one or two things to do gives the visit a focus and leaves time to enjoy them.

A day trip or an overnight stay
Decide in advance whether to return after your visit or stay in the region. Choose a day from the programme, then work out where you would like to spend the evening and night.
Before leaving, check the programme, the exact venue for your chosen activity and the organiser’s attendance conditions.
Discuss the trip with Hola Taxi to your selected Liwa Festival venue. Say whether you are leaving from Dubai, Abu Dhabi city or a hotel in Al Dhafra, how many people are travelling and whether you plan to stay overnight. If you are first flying into the Emirates, you can also discuss meeting at the airport and travelling to your hotel.
