Real American Freestyle comes to Abu Dhabi for the first time on 14 November 2026. The wrestling evening at Etihad Arena brings together names familiar from wrestling competitions and other combat sports. It is an opportunity to see athletes compete in the RAF format and spend a sporting evening on Yas Island.
Who the venue has announced
Etihad Arena's announcement names Khamzat Chimaev as the headline athlete. Arman Tsarukyan, Henry Cejudo, Jordan Burroughs, Kyle Snyder and Abdulrashid Sadulaev also appear on the announced list. That combination brings together audiences from different combat sports: fans of well-known fighters and followers of wrestling itself each have a reason to be interested.
Before choosing a ticket, check the current matchups on Etihad Arena's page. You might want to support a favourite athlete or compare how competitors from different disciplines perform.
How to follow the evening
RAF athletes wrestle on a mat: they execute throws, take opponents to the ground and try to turn their opponents onto their backs. Successful actions earn points; pinning both of an opponent's shoulders brings an immediate win. For a first viewing, follow two simple things: who manages to take the action from standing to the ground, and how the score changes after an attack. One successful attempt can change the course of a match, making both explosive attacks and the search for the right moment interesting to watch.
If travelling as a group, discuss beforehand whether everyone wants to stay for the whole programme. When choosing a ticket, consider whether you prefer a broad view of the arena or a closer focus on the action in the centre. Etihad Arena provides the seating plan and descriptions of available categories; check attendance conditions for this particular event.
