Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is for anyone interested in seeing how technique and tactics decide a grappling contest. The professional competition takes place from 19 to 21 November 2026 at Mubadala Arena. On the mat, athletes execute throws, change positions and seek a permitted joint lock or choke that makes their opponent submit.

What spectators will see
Jiu-jitsu is a contest for control: escaping an awkward position, getting past an opponent's defence and securing an advantage. Much of the action happens on the ground. If a match does not end in submission, a scoring system for technical actions and positions determines the result. An apparently quiet moment can therefore be an important attempt to take the initiative, while one successful attack can end the contest.
You do not need to know every technique's name for a first visit. Try following one athlete: how they begin the match, get past defensive positions and use an opening to attack. Then compare their approach with opponents in the draw. For people who practise jiu-jitsu, the championship offers a chance to observe competitive decisions; companions can support someone they know and understand their sport better.
Which days to choose
This article covers the professional championship on 19–21 November. The wider programme at the same venue starts earlier: amateur competitions on 9–10 November, para jiu-jitsu on 10 November, youth competitions on 11–13 November, the festival programme on 14–16 November and Masters on 17–18 November. If supporting a particular athlete, choose the day by the full name of their competition.
Check the categories, draws and visitor programme with the federation closer to your trip. If some of your group are coming for one athlete while others want a full day in the stands, agree on a shared plan beforehand. Discuss the return around the athlete's programme and companions' plans.

Travelling to Mubadala Arena
Write to Hola Taxi with the championship day you would like to attend at Mubadala Arena and your group size. You can discuss travel from an Abu Dhabi hotel or from Dubai and a return that fits the athlete's and companions' programmes. If flying to the Emirates first, you can discuss airport pickup and the journey to your hotel separately.
