In November, Hudayriyat Island becomes a meeting place for different endurance sports. The World Triathlon Multisport Championships take place from 13 to 22 November 2026, with a World Triathlon Championship Series round on 13–14 November. Spectators can choose between fast elite races and a wider programme bringing together athletes from several categories.
Two events with different characters
In triathlon, one athlete swims, cycles and runs to the finish in sequence. Changing disciplines is part of the race: after the swim, they must prepare quickly for cycling, then leave the bike and continue on foot. It is interesting to follow changing positions and see who saves strength for the final section.
WTCS occupies the first two days: individual sprint races are announced for 13 November and a mixed relay for 14 November. In the relay, each team member completes a short triathlon before handing over to the next. It offers a compact introduction to leading athletes over one weekend. The round was moved from March, so use the November programme.
The Multisport Championships continue until 22 November. Each discipline has its own character: duathlon follows running with cycling and another run; cross triathlon adds mountain biking and off-road running to swimming; aquathlon combines swimming and running. The overall programme includes elite athletes, age groups and para sport. Choose a day according to the competition or athlete you want to see.
Choosing from the programme
The published calendar places duathlon on 14–15 November, cross triathlon on 17 November, cross duathlon on 19 November and aquathlon on 20 November. Long-distance triathlon and long-distance aquabike conclude the programme on 22 November. These dates help with choosing a day; check exact times and spectator areas with the organiser.
If accompanying an athlete, build the plan around their discipline and competition day. Registration activities, racing and family time may all fit within one trip. Leave breathing room between them rather than trying to attend several starts simply because they share an island. WTCS and Multisport share a venue but remain different competitions.
Travelling to Hudayriyat
Discuss your journey with Hola Taxi to Hudayriyat from an Abu Dhabi hotel or Dubai and back. Give the discipline, date, passenger count and return plans. Describe any bicycle or other equipment so you can discuss a suitable arrangement. Airport pickup and the journey to your hotel can also be discussed beforehand.
