Burj Khalifa is the skyscraper whose silhouette has come to represent Dubai. A visit to the At the Top observation decks offers a different perspective on the city: from above, you can see the scale of its development, the lines of its roads and how individual neighbourhoods fit into the wider panorama. Come if you want to experience the height and get a sense of modern Dubai as a whole.
The tower is 828 metres tall, but visitors go to designated observation levels. The main At the Top experience includes levels 124 and 125; separate options include level 148. You need not choose the highest option. First, decide what kind of visit you would enjoy.

What makes the tower interesting
The architecture takes inspiration from the Hymenocallis flower. Three wings are arranged around a central core and step back as the tower rises, creating its tiered silhouette. During a walk around Downtown, it is worth looking at both its overall shape from a distance and its architectural details.
Going up adds another dimension. Levels 124 and 125 have observation decks, including an outdoor terrace and viewing telescopes. You can pick out familiar places, study the city's layout and photograph the panorama. Visibility depends on the weather; even a well-chosen ticket time cannot guarantee a perfectly clear horizon.
Which ticket should you choose?
At the Top: levels 124 and 125
Consider this option for a first visit to the tower. In the operator's current catalogue, one of the options covering levels 124 and 125 is called Silver. Read the description of the offer you choose: combination tickets may include other attractions.
Visiting level 148
The official website describes SKY as including level 148, an outdoor terrace and access to levels 124 and 125. If level 148 is the one you want, make sure it is explicitly included in your purchase. Compare the options in the official At the Top ticket catalogue.
Choose a date and time that work for everyone in your group. Tickets are valid for a specified time slot, so allow for the walk through Dubai Mall as well as the journey to the complex.

Where your visit starts
The At the Top entrance is on the Lower Ground floor of Dubai Mall. Follow the instructions on your ticket and the At the Top signs. It helps to know this in advance: access to the observation decks is through the mall, rather than any entrance to the skyscraper.
You could combine the visit with lunch and a walk around Downtown, or with Dubai Aquarium in the same mall. If you are choosing just one observation deck for your trip, compare Burj Khalifa's views with Dubai Frame and The View at The Palm. Each offers a different perspective on the city.
Travelling from your hotel to Burj Khalifa and back
You can discuss a transfer to Dubai Mall for your At the Top visit with Hola Taxi. Include the date, your ticket time, your hotel address and the number of passengers. If you would like to stay in Downtown after your visit, plan the return journey for after your walk or dinner.
