Dubai Design Week turns a walk through Dubai Design District into an exploration of contemporary architecture and product design. Large installations appear in public spaces, exhibition venues show designers' work, and workshops offer a chance to try different ways of working with materials. Come for professional inspiration or simply out of curiosity about how the things around us are made.
The twelfth edition runs on 3–8 November 2026 in Dubai Design District, or d3. Its projects invite you to look closely, walk around them and discuss them with your companions. You do not need a background in design history to enjoy the visit.

Gardens, timber structures and new ideas
One of the 2026 projects is Three Gardens and a Room by NAO Architects. Several gardens surround a shared space, with plants, colour and changing sunlight becoming part of the architecture. From a central room, visitors will be able to look at the gardens through framed openings. The project encourages attention to how shade and greenery change an everyday urban setting.
In Inherited Futures, UAE-based designers reinterpret inherited materials, traditions and ways of making. Japan's Nikken Sekkei and SOBOKUYA will present CHATAI 2.0, a timber structure connecting craft with space for shared activities. These are different approaches to the same question: how do contemporary objects and buildings relate to the cultures they come from?
For a first visit, we would choose a few installations and one exhibition, leaving time for an unhurried walk. If you want to do more than look, explore Maker Space and choose a workshop in a technique that interests you.
Festival, fair or marketplace?
Downtown Design, on 4–8 November, is a separate contemporary design fair within the festival week. It may particularly interest architects, decorators and people choosing furniture and interior objects. It has its own admission requirements; check the fair's page.
On the weekend of 7–8 November, the Marketplace features independent makers and small brands, handmade homewares, jewellery and clothing. Choose these dates if you want to browse and shop. Check workshop registration and the programme for your chosen day in advance, as not every event runs throughout the week.

Visiting d3 and staying for the evening
If you are visiting as a couple or a group, you could explore the festival and return to the hotel together after your chosen exhibition. Once you have selected a day, discuss a transfer to d3 and the return journey. Include your hotel, passenger numbers and the events you would like to attend.
