On 27 March 2027, Meydan Racecourse hosts the 31st Dubai World Cup. This major day of international racing has nine races announced, with the focus on horses, jockeys and teams competing for the season's leading honours.
For a racing enthusiast, it can be the main purpose of a trip. For someone who has only watched racing on screen, it offers a first visit to a racecourse and a day following several contests. We would recommend it to visitors interested in both sporting competition and the occasion of a big day out.

What is the World Cup?
Horses and jockeys from different countries compete at Meydan. The day's main race is the Group 1 Dubai World Cup. Meydan has dirt and turf tracks; the different races provide sport throughout the day rather than just one start to wait for.
Distinguish the World Cup from the Dubai Racing Carnival. The Carnival is a seasonal series of race days, while 27 March is a separate culminating event. If you are travelling for the World Cup, choose that date and the corresponding ticket. For another evening of racing, consult the club's calendar first.
Watching racing for the first time
We suggest exploring the programme before visiting: note a few races that interest you and leave gaps for breaks. This makes it easier to follow the action on the track rather than experience the day as one long event.
If you are going with others, discuss your plans first. Some may prioritise a good view of racing; others may want time together in a chosen spectator area. Compare ticket categories by access and location as well as their names. Check the dress rules for your area on Dubai Racing Club's website: the overall sense of occasion does not replace its specific requirements.
Check the 2027 runners and final timetable closer to 27 March. Names from previous editions should not be treated as confirmed for the new season.

Travelling to the racecourse
After choosing your ticket, discuss a transfer from your hotel to Meydan and back. Include the date, number of guests and whether you intend to stay all day. Plan the return around your chosen programme once the club publishes the final timetable.
