A marathon as the purpose of a trip
Zurich Marató Barcelona is a city marathon over the classic 42.195 km distance. The next race takes place on 14 March 2027. For a runner, it can become the centre of a trip: a long race shapes the weekend, from a quiet day beforehand to rest after the finish. Companions can travel together and experience sporting Barcelona from beside the course.

The organiser emphasises the entirely urban route. Its appeal combines the continuous challenge of a long distance with the streets of a major city. Runners pursue their own race amid buildings, avenues and people cheering them on. Check the organiser’s current map for specific turns and locations along the course.
Watching the race
A spectator’s visit differs from taking part. You can spend the morning at one section, cheer on someone you know and agree where to meet after they finish. Following them around the whole city is unnecessary. Our editorial suggestion is to choose one clear support plan rather than several moves based on exact predicted passing times. A runner’s actual pace can differ from their original estimate.
Photographs of earlier editions show the mass start, finish and emotions of the marathon. They convey its character without guaranteeing the same route, decoration or zone layout in 2027. Before travelling, check the organiser’s current materials for the 2027 course and event areas.

Date, start and entry
The 2027 regulations give Sunday 14 March and an 08:30 start. The current course page names Passeig de Gràcia as the starting place. Groups start in stages; runners should check their own group instructions with the organiser.
On the date checked, the official website is inviting registrations. Before registering, check availability and the current conditions directly with the organiser again. A travel-guide page does not establish that a race place is available or replace registration.
Your journey on marathon day
Plan the trip from your hotel to the current start area and a separate journey after the finish. If arriving at Barcelona–El Prat (BCN), the airport-to-hotel journey is another stage of the trip. Discuss your marathon journey with Hola Taxi, giving your departure address, role and plans after the race. If you would like to have lunch in the city after the marathon, mention it when discussing your return journey.
