The World of Hans Zimmer in Barcelona

Film music as a concert evening

The World of Hans Zimmer — A New Dimension comes to Palau Sant Jordi on 8 May 2027. This concert project turns film music into a stage experience of its own: orchestral suites meet visual projections, sound design and solo performances. It may appeal to fans of the composer and visitors who want to hear the language of cinema outside a film screening.

Hans Zimmer is the project’s music director and curator, but does not appear on stage. This is an essential feature of The World of Hans Zimmer. When choosing the event, look for its complete title, A New Dimension. The composer’s name on the poster refers to the music and creative direction rather than a personal performance in Barcelona.

What you will hear and see

The orchestral suites have been rearranged for this production. They are presented alongside large visual projections and solo performances, bringing music, images and stage action together. The scores remain central: you can hear familiar film music develop in concert form and notice how it changes a scene’s effect without the usual film editing.

The official description promises a journey through four decades of the composer’s work. Check the project’s current information for the programme; familiarity with an earlier tour does not guarantee the same selection. If your group has different musical tastes, discuss the format beforehand: this is a large concert with orchestral sound and a visual dimension. Our editorial suggestion is to choose it for the whole experience, rather than for the expectation of one favourite tune alone.

8 May at Palau Sant Jordi

The official event listing gives 8 May 2027 at 20:00. The venue is Palau Sant Jordi, Passeig Olímpic 5–7, Barcelona. Confirm the date, venue and visitor conditions when buying through the official venue information. Do not confuse the arena with Palau de la Música Catalana, a different concert venue.

After choosing tickets, you can discuss your journey with Hola Taxi. Give the concert date, Palau Sant Jordi and your pickup address. A hotel-to-concert journey is separate from arrival travel from BCN Barcelona–El Prat. Discuss the return around the actual end of the show and your plans afterwards, without relying on an unconfirmed finishing time.
