Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026: discover Dubai on the move

Join Dubai’s 30×30 challenge from 31 October to 29 November 2026: cycling on Sheikh Zayed Road, a mass-participation run and fitness activities.

Event dates: —

Dubai Fitness Challenge offers a simple reason to be more active: 30 minutes of activity every day for 30 days. From 31 October to 29 November 2026, the city takes part in the initiative. For travellers, it is a chance to add workouts, a bike ride or a mass-participation run to beach time and sightseeing.

You do not have to turn your holiday into a training camp. Choose an activity you enjoy and start there: the challenge is about finding your own way to move regularly. Explore activities and registration on the festival website, and leave room in your itinerary for the events you especially want to attend.

Dubai Ride: a morning on the main highway

Dubai Ride takes place on 1 November. Participants cycle on routes temporarily closed to motor traffic. The main option is 12 km along Sheikh Zayed Road, with a 4 km family route through Downtown. It is a chance to see familiar city views at an unusual pace for a major road.

Choose a distance that suits everyone in your group. With children, consider their cycling experience rather than simply aiming for the longer route. Before travelling, check registration, bicycle arrangements and bib collection on the official website.

Dubai Run: running among the skyscrapers

Dubai Run takes place on 22 November, with 5 km and 10 km routes. Both start on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Museum of the Future. The 5 km route finishes on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard; the 10 km route finishes by the Gate Building in DIFC.

We would treat this run as an experience of the city in its own right. You could come with friends to take part together without aiming for a personal best. Supporters should arrange a post-race meeting in advance, as the two distances finish in different places.

Adding sport to your holiday

Choose one main event first, then fit other workouts around it. Before an early start, keep the previous evening relaxed. After running, avoid scheduling several tours in succession and give yourself time to rest.

If you want to travel from the hotel to the start together, discuss a transfer to your chosen event. Include the distance, hotel address and number of participants. For Dubai Ride, say separately whether you intend to bring bicycles: check whether they can be carried before arranging the journey. Road closures mean you should compare your approach plan with the organiser's instructions.
